Okage 033: Too much

How did this not get uploaded? I actually had this colored last week.

I did a bunch of pencil sketches off screenshots and action figures at the very beginning of this to get a sense of what the characters all looked like. I miss some of the random off the wall energy in those, so I'm going to try to do at least a few images as sketches and leave them sketches. This was sketched in ballpoint pen over... a while, I think, based on all that detail. I'd change a few details if I could, but half the challenge of ballpoint pen is working with no eraser.

Poor Ari spends his entire life getting bossed around, especially by women. First his little sister, then his love interest, the guy is never gonna get a break. I'm sure even apathetic little Ari must find it "too much" sometimes ^_~ I could have gone all out and put his mom, Rosalyn, Julia, Stan, and allll the other bossy characters... but there's something kind of nice about little Ari being dwarfed by who are probably going to be the two most important women in his life.
